Philip and Twyla Tolstad
Philip L. Tolstad was born in the country of Uruguay as his parents (Philip G. and Pauline (Mason) Tolstad where pioneer missionaries in Southern South America. He attended Conquerors Bible College in Portland, Oregon and pastored in Portland, Oregon, Puyallup and Federal Way Washington and in Berryville, Arkansas. He was appointed to South Africa in September of 2000. The Tolstad/s were asked to go to Malawi in 2002. The country of Mozambique was added to their appointment in 2004. During their Deputation in 2006, they were asked to transfer to the country of Uganda due to the retirement of the Arlon Royer¿s.
Twyla C. Tolstad was born and raised in Hennepin, Oklahoma. She is very involved in the work in Uganda as she directs the elementary and High Schools in Kampala. With an enrollment of over a thousand students and a staff of close to eighty, it is a monumental task. She also is the Sunday School Director for the Country of Uganda.
The Church in Uganda is called the UNITED APOSTOLIC CHURCH OF UGANDA. (As there was a previously registered church registered as the UPCI of Uganda in the country. It is a Trinitarian Church and has no association with the United Pentecostal Church Int. of Hazelwood, MO, U.S.A.)
From the arrival of the Tolstad in 2007 the Church has grown from 31 to over 600 churches in Uganda. From 3,000 constituants to over 50,000 people attending UACU churches. With Ministerial Training, Seminars and Doctrinal Conferences the church continues to have great Revival.
